I played SR3 on Playstation 3, and tried to copy game on a generic usb drive to back up my PS3 game data, but the SR3 game said coping not allowed. Now I have XBOX 360, and I copied SR3 game data to XBOX 360 jump drive, with no problems. Maybe I misunderstood something, but not transfering game data. My question is why game allows copy game data for XBOX 360, but not for PS3??Undecided

It's because some ps3 savegames are copy protected (which sucks in my opinion). It is up to the developers if they copy protect their ps3 savegames or not and volition did it. It sucks that xbox and pc players can back up their saves and we can't.

I always copy my saves to usb because many game have savegame problems (like "The Amazing Spider-Man") so it really sucks that we can't do it with sr3. I really hope volition will change that in sr4!

Yeah, not a huge fan of locking the game saves so that it can't be save to USB. I only subscribe to Playstation Plus when they have good deals and I have the extra $ in my account but it only lasts 3 months at a time (Thier shortest available subscription package) sometimes months can go by where my subscription is not activated and I would like the chance to back up the work I put into the game on an external USB! Anything can happen and hard drives are not forever. I sincerely hope that the next version of SR3 will allow the copy of game saves to USB!

Thanks for replies. I realize some PS3 games are copy protected, but why on PS3 and not Xbox 360? The question should go to Voliton, whatever.Surprised

Yeah, that's not really fair. I mean this is my savegames, not volition's. I think I deserve that I can do whatever I want with it.

Luckily not a single game I bought since SR3 has copy protected savegames (except for "Lollipop Chainsaw" which I just rent).

Some PS3 games have them and some don't, but unless Sony provides free saved game service and free space with the PSN account for those saves and expanded network space for save games when subscribed to Playstation Plus, then they should not allow locking the save game copies to PSN copies only.

We aren't stealing, only backing up are saved games and transferring those saved games between other PS3 devices that we own or using them from backup and recovery. Anyone who has put hundereds of hours into a game only to lose that data to a hard drive crash, should know how important that is!!!

I already lost my SRTT save game when my PS3 crashed this years January.

Luckily some developers changed that already ("Dragon Age Origins" saves were copy protected while "Dragon Age II" saves weren't, "Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions" saves were also copy protected while "Spider-Man Edge of Time" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" weren't too).

So I really hope Volition will also change that in SR4. I just want to be sure that I don't have to start over again.

That's not working. I cannot change the device I want to save to while I'm in the game.

Can't see why they can't instead of locking they can't just pin protect it! Ie you have a your own code generated when you save it! So only you can use it.
