Pretty lame. Why weren't players given the option to paint these vehicles in the first place? Modders have already added it in on PC. I'll save my money for some of the upcoming outfit and vehicle packs.

I picked up the new pack then started yet another new game.

Its fun to have access to those three vehicles at the start of a new game.

And seeing how there's a serious pc game drought right now, I need to get a bit more mileage out of SR3.  Once Max Payne 3 and Hitman: Absolution come out, then that won't be the case anymore but there's no release date for Absolution as of right now, and Max Payne 3 isn't due out till the end of may for the pc.

I do not understand how someone can buy a vehicles DLC that already have in the game and the difference is only bidding on a new skin.

It's 240 points, something like 3 dollars, 1 dollar for each vehicles, and has people buying, why this happens???

This content should be unlocked in the game and not purchased by DLC.

This seems  like a Joke from April 1, it is not possible.

You're actually bringing up a very good point. I remember at the end of SR2, when you beat the game, you were given purple SAINTS re-skinned vehicles of some of the flyables and military vehicles! In addition, when you purchased the boat crib in the Suburbs Expansion District, you were given a re-skinned boat in the crib, and when you purchased the airport crib you were given a re-skinned fighter plane...

Honestly, I am REALLY TRYING to give the devs/publisher the benefit of the doubt with the DLC structure, and I was actually arguing with people complaining about "Disc Locked Content" many months ago when the DLC first started releasing. Many people were crying from the forum rooftops about how THQ seemed to be on the path of releasing a ton of content that SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE GAME TO START WITH, but wasn't, and would now be used to milk us for extra cash.

Again, I argued against this and supported THQ releasing a boat-load of DLC, but now, in seeing the aftermath of the major DLC releases, I have to say that I think I was wrong. I firmly believe that a good deal of what has been released as paid DLC should have been FREE with the game or released as free DLC later on if they really wanted to wait.

Look, I LOVE SR3 and am a huge fan of the game. But the Special Ops Pack really drives home the point that much of the "premium" DLC released should be FREE. I think it is reprehensible to charge a DOLLAR PER VEHICLE for nothing but a paint job, particularly when SR2, which already had a ton more customizing content than SR3 to begin with, had the "Saint's Painted Vehicles" FOR FREE!!! I am now looking back over all the released DLC packs and associated prices with a much more critical eye and, I won't lie, I don't like what's looking back at me.

Well now everyone knows why we couldn't customize these vehicles from the start, so they could SELL you reskinned ones instead... guess this is another DLC I'll pass

I really want to support Volition, THQ and Saints Row but I refuse to support disk locked content and reskinned vehicles.

The funny thing is that I wouldn't mind "Disc Locked Content," and I was one of the people defending the idea when the game first released. I honestly feel that if devs want to add extra content that will save on fufure download times, then that is perfectly fine. The problem I have is that from everything I have seen, many of the DLC items are things that, quite honestly, reek of what should be FREE content. You know, I get why the three mission packs of the Season Pass were disc locked and premium content. Fine, I am cool with that. Though I would argue that they charged TOO MUCH money for it, but that is another conversation. But something like this, THREE vehicles already in the game whose ONLY DIFFERENCE is that they are painted Saint's Purple? That is just absurd and an insult to our collective intelligence that they charge $2.99 for that. Some of the other DLC was like that as well, and I passed on it. Things like the Warrior Pack, Z-Style, and many others are just total ripoffs. You either get a paltry few outfits OR you get one outfit and one weapon. Seriously, talk about chinsy!

^^ This!

And to be honest, I think that is pretty sleazy, again, this is just my opinion. I really hope that Volition and THQ listen to the fans on this site about things like this.

IMO, disk locked content isn't true DLC. The original concept of DLC was to add additional content to extend the life of the game months after release. It's like buying car with a locked down radio. Months after purchase the dealer contacts you about purchasing the key to unlock the functionality of the radio. It was always there you just didn't have access to it. It's not an additional feature. There is no real reason, other than greed, that the content that is already on the disk couldn't have been included in the full game. It was ready at the time of the games release.

THQ is doing the worst thing possible with the concept of DLC. They are starting with a complete game and removing parts to sell back to us later.
