Decker Specialist Skates Theory

After replaying the Trouble With Clones DLC, I got to wondering. Volition was able to make it so that we could run fast witht he irradiated Saints Flow. Make us faster than cars.

As fast as the Decker Specialists.

Could the Saints Flow have been a test to see if the skates could be implemented into the game for the players to use? If so, I'd say it was a success. The player was running about as past as the Decker Specialists witht he Saints Flow, and even that blue trail was left behind (it wasn't near as big, but it was there). I'm really hoping that with a few modifications on the MC's posing and structure that we would be able to get the skates. (If weapons cannot be implemented, how about clothing? Unless of course that can't be added in either)

========
Functions
========

When just walking, the player will slowly glide. When they run, it'll be slightly faster than normal running speed.

When one uses the awesome button to dash, they'll go the same speed as the Decker Specialists. Now when we normally run, we must stop for a brief second to change direction. For the Decker girls, this is not the case. They defy physics and turn on a dime without stopping (much like characters from old video games.) The brief halting action should be disabled to allow for one to instantly turn.

========
Teleporting
========

With teleporting, it seems like it'd be a little hard to program. I think I have a solution though. When normally running, you can jump and do a dodge roll. The dodge roll should be replaced with the teleporting action (with the sound and whatnot.) The player would go as far as they normally would when they dodge roll, but when they reappear, they'll still be standing and ready for their next move. This way, a player can teleport a short distance like the Decker girls do in any direction. Just a quick tap of both the Sprint and jump button can achieve this.

========
Special Actions
========

When teleporting, if one is to press the RT, the player will immediately fire at the enemy while leaning to the left, right, or back (depending on the direction in which they teleported). If they teleport forward, however, and press the RT, the player will be on their knees firing at the enemy. If the player is sprinting, and then presses the RT, they fire while spinning.

Now, if the player is wielding a Shock Hammer, if they sprint and press the RT, they will leap into the air and slam the weapon into the ground (and for only the Shock Hammer, no other melee weapons can perfom this).

Do you think that this could be plausible to put incorporate into the game? It's basically taking the skates (the skates alone, not with the boots), and allowing them to be attached to almost any outfit. The skates could also be customizable in colorization, allowing for it to go with anything.

This is just an idea that I truly hope will come to fruition, though my better half tells me otherwise.

I hope that V-Singular will read this and hopefully give feedback on it's plausibility.

Oh they could quite easily give us the Decker skates, if they wanted to. And what an awesome addition they would be.

I'd be just as happy without the 'special actions' though.

The illusion of teleporting would only be a matter of different animations.

True enough. Just wanted to see how much could be done with 'em.

Dear Volition.

I am sorry that the Red Faction series didn't turn out to be your Halo or Gears of War. So, now you need SR3 to make lots of money. I see you are trying to milk some money out of SR3 DLC. Some of the stuff is neat, like the Shark-o-Matic, but the rest is pretty meh. I have a suggestion for a DLC pack.

DLC pack - "Cyber Glide in Decker Blue"

Complete Decker Specialist suit. Authentic suit just like what the Decker Specialists wear.

Individual Decker Specialist suit parts. (So players have the option to mix, match, and customize).

Decker Specialist shock hammer with 4 upgrade levels. (starts at level 1)

New ability upgrade: Skitch. (Only available when wearing the inline skates. Allows you to skitch on the back of vehicles. Players must still earn the upgrade.)

New ability upgrade: Cyber Glide (Only available when wearing the inline skates. Allows you to do zip around at high speed in short bursts, mimicking the Decker Specialist's teleportation ability. Players must still earn the upgrade.)

New gang customization option: Have the Decker Specialist in your gang.

New cheevo: "Going my way?" (Skitch a ride for x number of miles.)

New cheevo: "I believe I can fly" (Hit big air while skitching.)

Sell this for 280 MS points. I think you will sell a lot.

Thanks.
