I can understand why that might be necessary for SR3 on consoles, but there should be no reason for them to be unavailable on the PC version. Modders will just add them in, anyway.

The short answer is because they're probably using one "parent" build to write the DLC content, then translating it into a PS3 and 360 version. So they just write once, test three times, and put it up for sale.

If they change the code to allow for more guns on the PC version only, then there will be two "parent" builds - one exclusively for PC and the other for consoles - and that's probably fine at first, but as more and more DLCs come out the differences between the two builds will snowball into a giant cluster**** of bugs and delays until the team goes "Screw developing for the PC, consoles are a lot easier" and we're suddenly back to the SR2 days.

And yeah, the modding community can easily add stuff in, but the mods will probably break every time a DLC comes out because SR:TT updates regardless if you bought the new DLC or not, so it's more than likely the modders will wait until all the DLCs are out before putting stuff in. I wouldn't hold my breath.

So in effect.  V made a game that with all knowledge of this in their hands that they would eventually run out of said memory of guns.  And they decided to give us crap like the money shot that is no more different then the standard starting shotgun?  I hate to say it.  But that waste of space isn't worth the tiny bonus it gives for respect.

And I really would lie to see the laser pistol added in at least to give us an enjoyable weapon for the pistols.  Just to have two is a bit low when the last 2 games had three.  I know it's not much to speak on but it would be nice to have at least THAT from the GIS DLC.

And I do agree.  Why didn't we get at least the alien costumes and just the hat?  Or is there a limit on clothing that were creeping up on too? Yes that sounded low.  But it is an actual question I'm curious on.

I do apologize to Volition though.

I am pretty harsh in my last reply but I do stand by what I typed.  They work their butts off to bring us alot of happiness and fun through their games and idea's.  And albeit not all of them kick off as great as the others.  But I'm pretty happy with the overall game.

The whacky and out right craziness of it is just fun through and through.  I know we the players ask and demand alot from them but in the end we can only hope our support can give them more idea's or content to give us a better experience to enjoy such a game and can only help to make the next or any new titles better.

Exactly. Why did the programmers of Volition continue to disappoint? That's strike two from me. Just have the modders implement the weapons, so I'll be glad. The game felt like a 360 port when I played the DLC. How hard it is to make games on the PC compared to the consoles???I did complain and I'm freakishly annoyed about it. They need to do a better job than this, seriously. I like the game, but the episodic DLCs are a joke. Rockstar North did better, so Volition need to be better as them. Just don't copycat their ideas, but improve instead.

That's not how it works. Of course modders can do a lot, but no one on the saintsrow mods site has implemented them succesfully in the game. Or you see the model, but it can't shoot, or it can shoot, but everything is missing. Haven't you listened to a word the programmers said in V-Singular's quote?
They can't do it because of memory issues, we can't do it either. Because of the same issues. And it has nothing to do with the RAM of your comp, or how much GB space you have.

Personally, I didn't mind losing the alien rifle and SMG, but not getting the pistols was the biggest disappointment of the DLC for me because the base game only had 2 handguns. Still, I'm glad they had a reason for not having them and they really made up for it by giving players the alien ships and Jenny as a homie. I'd say GIS was my favorite mission DLC for all the excellent new conent it provided, even if I had to lose the pistol after the mission it was in. If I remember correctly none of the mission DLCs released had new weapons either... and its because they ran out of room for them after making the main game? That sucks, but at least they did a good job on most of the other stuff and were able to have them in the missions themselves. What I hope they do for the next game is add a little more weapon space, even if they have to cut back on some of the other stuff. I liked how clothing and hair moved around in this game, but I'd gladly trade that for a few more guns in the next one.

Someone who gets it. And why there weren't any dlc weapons in the main game.

The only thing some modders got done from the dlcs is adding the genki npcs as followers in Gang Plus One, and the Superpowers with a keybind in Sanbox+ mod. And a little fix on the Steelport gangs dlc with the decker specialist.

Really people we can't do much more than Volition. So don't expect us the bring the dlc weapons ingame while we can't even do it ourselves. And please, quite your $?@%!**# on Volition. They gave a clear and legitimate reason why they couldn't implement the DLC weapons in the open world. They can't, so we can't do it either, unless we can rebuild the engine, which we can't.

That post has been awhile back and I knew it has nothing to do with my ram space or my HDD space. It could be theirs' probably.
