Big Saints Row 4 Story Thread- Please Read
|2 years ago :: Dec 20 2011 - 2:48PM|
Much of the dialogue is rough because I can't write the characters well, this is more about the idea, dialougue presented is the gist of what the character is saying, not how they'd say it.
Takes place in Las Puertas (Las Vegas)
Las Puertas is located on the coast, surrounded by mountains on three sides and the ocean on the other. Las Puertas is divided into four main sections by canals passing through and under the city. These are Old Las Puertas, The Striptease (the Strip), a new rich suburban housing district, and an impoverished housing district. By flying through the desert, area 69 can also be accessed. The Row, a hotel on the outskirts of The Stripshow, is owned and operated by Saints-Ultor. This functions as the main headquarters for the saints during the campaign. Old Las Puertas is owned by the Back Hand, The Stripshow by the Cirque, and the impoverished zone by the Sinners. Depending on the order in which the MC chooses to attack the gangs, more or less land in the housing district will belong to one of the three enemy gangs.
The Sinners: Orange
Led By: Dex
Lieutenants: Killbane, Cyrus
Back for revenge, Dex has started his own gang, the sinners, and rounded up some of the MC’s greatest enemies to form an alliance against the saints. After the truth about Kia came out, Cyrus was removed from the lead of STAG. With Cyrus directly blaming the saints for his removal, Dex sought him out and quickly gained his trust. Cyrus is now fully loyal to Dex. Killbane, also recruited after suffering humiliation for having his mask stolen by the MC (cannon choice now), has become even angrier and is a loose cannon for the Sinners, constantly trying to steal power from Dex and willing revenge on the MC no matter the cost.
They make use usual gang fighting, similar to those in SR 2. Extremely aggressive towards other gangs, gunning down anyone belonging to any of the other three gangs on sight. If one of the other gangs is disbanded before the Sinners, they become hesitant to attack and wait for you to strike first.
The Cirque: Red
Led By: The Triplets- Aldolfo, Hilda, Dominic
Lieutenants: None fought
Each triplet runs one show in a casino, modeled after the cirque du Soleil shows in real Las Vegas. The gang members also take part in the shows, making them extremely agile, quick, and flexible. While they began with the Cirque shows, through murder, bribery, and deception the triplets have taken over all of the hotels on the Striptease.
The fighters of the cirque are extremely fast and agile, allowing them to parkour their way across and up building while firing upon you. They also use a variety of silly/weird costumes, similar to those used in real Cirque shows. In real life, these range from robots with glowing hearts on their chests to plantlike natives, so this leaves a bit of variety in range for Volition. When not in their shows, however, the gang should feature uniforms with the color red.
The Back Hand (needs a better name): Black
Led by: Mr. Ritoni
Lieutenants: Triat, Clicks
The Back Hand is a classical mob. They have a lucrative drug business in old Las Puertas, and are more than willing to kill to keep it safe. Mr. Ritoni is a man of shadows, rarely appearing directly to his men but rather speaking through Clicks, a behemoth of a man who may have relation to Oleg. Triat is the brains of the operation, planning tactics to evade both the cops and the Cirque, who is threatening to expand into Old Las Puertas.
Use classical Tommy guns. Due to Triat’s disregard for his men, they often attempt to use numbers to overcome their enemies rather than actual strategy.
**Character is made before opening cutscene or imported from SRTT**
1 year after taking Steelport-
Burt Reynolds retired- Zimos is now mayor
Shaundi-Unable to cope with Gat’s death, has taken up a few of the “bad habits” she lost between the second and third games. She still looks like she does in SRTT, just smokes more and behaves as a mix between SR2 and SRTT.
Angel-Is dead. After the MC refused to chase down Killbane, Angel confronted and tried to fight him. The MC shot Angel dead.
The Saints are departing the premier of their new movie, Saints in Space. As MC, Shaundi, Pierce, and Oleg are leaving when Kinzie approaches them. Suddenly, MC spots Kinzie shoving her way through the crowd, laptop in hand. She reaches the MC. “I found him”. The screen blacks out, into a flashback with the MC narrating, telling of his history with Dex. These scenes lead into MC and Kinzie sitting in Kinzie’s Hideout around a computer, watching a news report on “SaintsTube.” The report is showing footage of a robbery that took place in Las Puertas. Gang members dressed in orange are seen setting fire to a hotel in old Las Puertas. During the arson, Dex looks straight at the camera and smiles. Kinzie pauses the frame here. The MC decides to set out for Las Puertas. The MC chooses to go alone, thinking he would be able to assassinate Dex and be done with it, taking a private jet and piloting it himself. As MC approaches Las Puertas, he is surrounded by red and black Wolverines (the plane) bearing logos of the Cirque and the Back Hand. The two groups formed an unsteady alliance in response to the aggressive attacks of the Sinners, and are blockading Las Puertas. They threaten to fire on the MC’s plane if he refuses to turn around. Instead, he straps on a parachute, and jumps from the plane onto the nearest fighter. Mission One begins.
The MC lands on the nearby fighter, and shoots out the pilot. The gunfire from the other planes lights up the sky, and soon the bullets are flying around, narrowly missing the protagonist. He pushes the corpse from the cockpit, and, trying to keep the plane in flight, the player then is able to take aim with a pistol at the next pilot, who smashes into the MC’s jet and explodes, lighting the MC’s wolverine on fire. MC climbs from the plane and runs across onto the wing, where he jumps onto another nearby wolverine. He jumps on the pilot, punching out him in the seat. MC smashes the pilot’s head into the controls, destroying them. The plane takes a steep dive, throwing the MC into freefall. *CHECKPOINT* this results in a freefall dogfight with the remaining 5 planes, which try to shoot the MC and ram him. The player must dodge these and try to shoot out the planes with SMGs (infinite ammo). The MC opens his chute and lands on top of the Steelport Steelport hotel. From here he can see the three gangs fighting throughout the city. MC sighs-“Here we go again.” The MC pulls out his phone, and begins to dial someone when he hears the click of a pistol. The camera pulls back to reveal Dex, several sinners, and a tied up male with a bag over his head. The captured victim has blood stained on his white shirt and jeans, as well as several tears and cuts in the clothes. He has obviously been tortured. Dex has a pistol pointed at the MC’s head, and the sinners also are aimed at the MC.
Dex-“It’s been a long time, hasn’t it.”
MC turns around, surprised. What the hell? How did you get up here so fast?
Dex-“Drop the phone and your weapons, and kick them over.”
MC-Is that how you great an old friend?
MC-Or what, you’ll try to kill me again? That worked out so well the last two times, didn’t it?
Dex-“No, I’ll kill him, and then I’ll kill you.” Dex removes the bag from the victim’s head, revealing Gat, beaten bruised, and barely conscious.
MC is obviously surprised that Gat didn’t die in the plane crash.
Dex-“Surprised? I pulled him from the wreckage after Philippe escaped, and have held him since. I’ve been waiting a long, long time for this. To kill both of you. I quietly operated in the background, building power. I avoided the media, sending out bribes and killing those who refused them. I was going to wait until I took over Las Puertas and had built an army to face you, but when that newscast slipped through I knew you’d be coming. I had figured you’d send your little army after me. I built what I have from scratch, while you sit on your ivory tower sending assassins and men to do your work for you. When I saw you drop from the sky, I was amazed that it was you who had come. You fell right into my trap. And here we are. Just like old times eh? You, me, and Gat together again. Too bad only one of us will be leaving.”
Suddenly a shot goes off and strikes the ground next to Dex. Shaundi and Pierce followed the MC to Las Puertas, slipping through the blockade while it dealt with the MC.
Shaundi (stoned) - “Did I hit him?”
Dex and the sinners turn around and open fire. Pierce pulls Shaundi back behind cover, and the MC pulls out a knife and cuts Gat free, pulling him upright.
Suddenly Dex and some of the sinners turn back, and begin firing at Gat and MC instead of Shaundi and Pierce. The MC pulls Gat off the edge of the building and the two drop into freefall.
Gat-“What the F#@ are you doing?”
MC- Just trust me, ok?
The two fall, then hit and slide down the smaller version of the Ironsmith statue in Steelport. They land on top, when suddenly a Sinner with an RPG fires down from the roof on them. The two jump into the water below and the statue is broken in the same fashion it is in SRTT, landing in the water next to Gat and MC. They climb out, and drop onto the street. A fight between the Back Hand, the Cirque, and the Sinners is taking place. MC and Gat kill two gang members and take their weapons. The player assumes control. The MC gets a call from Shaundi, who explains that she and Pierce have a plane landed in the street behind the hotel, and that they are taking the elevator back down to street level. The MC agrees to meet them there. *CHECKPOINT* The player then fights through the three way battle around to the plane. The plane is labeled with Saint’s ads and logos, which Gat remarks on. Shaundi is at the controls, much to Pierce’s displeasure. The gang takes off, but then Shaundi crashes in front of The Row Hotel. The four go in and request the penthouse suite at gunpoint.
Gat, Pierce, MC, and Shaundi are sitting around a table. The discuss what to do next. MC tells Pierce to call Kinzie, Oleg, and Viola and tell them to come to Las Puertas by boat and to leave Zimos to watch Steelport. Pierce asks whether he should ask for cars/helicopter/etc, but the MC reminds him the Cirque and Back Hand would have strengthened the blockade now that they thought the Saints were invading. They then discuss what gang to go after first, Gat wanting to take down the Sinners (for revenge), Shaundi the Cirque (because she hates clowns and is still stoned), and Pierce the Back Hand (he thinks the name is a racist pun). They leave it up to the MC. He then asks Shaundi to check their bank account for funds, to which she reveals there is only a thousand dollars left, as she “accidentally” (stoned) gave it to her friend “Ponzi.” She then figures out what she did. The MC is pissed but is used to Shaundi by now, so resigns himself to starting over again. The cutscene ends, and the player is deposited outside, with the storyline split into the three gangs.
MC aggressively attacks the Sinners. The attack on this Gang is led by Gat and Viola. Killbane is constantly pushing for a direct attack on the Saints, while Cyrus and Dex disagree. The infighting leads to Dex shooting at Killbane while he wrestles with the MC, as Dex wants both dead. Killbane is shot. Cyrus is killed in the boss battle with the gang but Dex escapes back to Stillwater. The MC decides to finish cleaning up the city before pursuing him
The attack on the Cirque is led by Shaundi and Kinzie. The two contrast, Shaundi being completely high and Kinzie being smart. Shaundi still needs to contribute and hold a lead role over Kinzie. The attacks culminate in a choice of three missions, one to kill each of the triplets. These can be done in any order, and whichever triplet is saved for last will change to react to the death of his/her siblings. Adolfo is spoiled, and harsh, beating members who refuse to obey him. Hilda is “artsy” and interpretive. Dominic is cowardly and rides his siblings success, only wanting to act.
Adolfo- fistfight on a vertical screen, both of you suspended by wires after the MC interrupts the show (similar to the show Ka in reality)
Hilda-the MC must infiltrate the show, assassinating a certain performer and donning his costume. The performance is a quick time event in which the MC must dangle by a rope and perform combos to get through the show. At one point he holds Hilda in the air. She realizes who he is, and the MC drops her, killing her on impact. He then drops to the floor and must gun his way out of the building.
Dominic-Is a coward, so when the MC and Shaundi enter the show he throws waves of strangely dressed cirque freaks at the MC. The MC must work against both the enemies and the stage, which is constantly shifting and changing. This ends with the MC chasing Dominic through the catwalks above the stage and shooting him point blank.
These can be done in any order, and one of the triplets can be spared. Whichever is spared becomes a homie. If all are killed the MC gets and extra respect and cash bonus.
The Back Hand:
Oleg and Pierce are running the attack on this gang. Desperate for help against the Sinners and recognizing that their alliance with the Cirque is quickly crumbling, the Back Hand is in need of help. They demand the MC join them but start from the bottom of their hierarchy. MC agrees in order to gain access to Mr. Ritoni, and Pierce and Oleg join with him. The story revolves around them working their way up through the ranks of the gang, culminating with a meeting in which they try to assassinate Mr. Ritoni.
Once the player defeats one of the Las Puertas gangs they must do a STAG mission. During this mission, the Saints are framed for blowing up Hooter (Hoover) Dam and nearly flooding Las Puertas. STAG uses this as an excuse to move into Las Puertas and resume their war against the Saints. During this mission it is shown that STAG has taken over the blockade from the Cirque and Back Hand. STAG also moves the Daedalus 2 into position over the Las Puertas harbor. The STAG technology has advanced even further than before. This includes enemies in armored mechs (similar to the Silverback in Gears 3). STAG also had a VTOL car now, pressing B switches from a sleek sports car to a jet. Two laser cannons are mounted on the front of it. STAG missions cannot be done until the final two gangs are defeated. Once the Daedalus 2 is destroyed, the Saints take over STAG and add it to the Saints-Ultor group.

me and a few other people have been brainstroming ideas for SR4 and i welcome you to share your thoughts, who knows maybe one of us may inspire voltion for there SR4 story, becasue what they gave us for SR3 was unacceptable.

Good stuff so far! As far the Back Hand, I think they should be called the BLACK Hand.

After the Saints stop Kia at the monument, they reveal her to the public. Cyrus is fired due to his connections to Kia.
That's actually what I based their name off of, but that is/was a real organization. I figured I'd change it a little to avoid offending anyone, good idea though.
I'll try to read the threads you linked as soon as I have time! Thanks for the links!
I'm going to add a section of unique cars that could be added to the game later tonight too.

First: In SR:TT, the reason Angel needs assistance in killing Killbane is because STAG has him pinned down, and he can't get to the airport in time without your help (I don't understand why, besides need for a tough choice ending, MC couldn't have called his homies/Oleg and Pierce and told them to go help Angel while MC saved the monument and Shaundi), not because he couldn't face KB on his own.
Second: Maybe instead of the "Black Hand", it could be the "Black Handcuffs", and every gang member has handcuffs around each wrist (not connected) that are painted black. Goes with the "Pierce no likey", "Saint's Row crazy", and "old timey gangstas" themes very well.

That make no sense at all.
Cyrus isn't a Gang Banger, he wants wants to eliminate all gangs. He's military. If He's alive9Which i doubt, since the City State ending is probably the Canon one), he would be with STAG.
Dex isn't a Gang Banger anymore either. He moved up in the world, he's a Corrupt Corperate Executive. Gang Banging would be beneath him now, that's why he joined Ultor last time.
And Killbane is probably dead and even if he wasn't, he wouldn't follow Dex's or Cyrus's orders. Cyrus and Killbane were fighting eachother in the Three Way Mission.
None of this works with the story chico.
Pay attention, Monica Hughes tells Cyrus and STAG to vacate Steelport, but he isn't fired. STAG is still active and Cyrus is still their commanding officer.
No offence, but you don't know much of Cyrus's character if you think he would degrade himself by joining a Gang.
