I'm assuming yes, unless there's a way to bring people back to life unzombified.  This is Saints Row ya know so nothing is impossible.  Laughing  That could also mean bring Gat, Lin, and Carlos back to life.  Great Success!!

Burt didn't die did he? All I remember is Shaundi and Viola dying, but I think neither ending set up a sequel for MC, and co. my money is saying that in SR4, we might see a new boss, or hell, maybe a new gang?

I did not understand the point have having two different endings if you expect to have a sequeal.  To me it does not make sense.

Burt is tied up next to Shaundi and Viola, and during the last fight "orders" you to win saying something like "I'm the mayor and I order you to not lose and untie us". But both endings open to the 4th. When you save everyone, Killbane, Senator %?*@$, and STAG gets away.  When you kill killbane and destroy the Daedulus, you take over Steelport making it a city-state and threaten senator %?**!. Both are wide open ending.

I think the MC saving the girls and Burt is cannon, and thats what SR4 will be based off of, as Shaundi, Burt, Mayor's Favor, SWAT Team and Viola will still answer your calls if you choose to let the three of them die.

And yet, Bioware makes so much money and fans doing the same exact thing, look at Mass Effect.  It gives the player a choice, and lets them make the ending they want to happen, even if the choice kills off everyone, we happily look forward to the next installment. In SRTT, it makes no differeance, you get to do both endings on one character.

Maybe its something like this:

Over time, the Saints have grown too powerful.  Not only is the city of Steelport under their control, but the entire United States is.  The boss has become a military dictator and governs with an iron fist.  To combat the Saints, a resistance group emerges known as the Sinners.  Their gang color is blood red and one of their lieutenants is an ex-STAG member.  You start out as a recruit, then work your way to the rank of captain and lead the Sinners in their fight to liberate the nations from the Saints' grip, but as you progress through the story, you eventually learn that Ultor was just using the Saints as a puppet for global conquest.

Sound good?

Sounds like Saints Row 1 with a fresh coat of paint. Ill stick to playing the Boss, thats where the fun is.

I don't know, I just think that the MC's story should finish here, it just.....it seems that at this point, its starting to drag on, I guess is what I'm trying to say, theres not much spark left in it like there is with 2 or 3, I think the fourth one should introduce us to a new city, and a new MC, with a freshstart, and hell maybe a new year, maybe a prequel, or even play as one of the gang from one of the games, like you play as the Ronin in whatever city their from, just an idea.

How about we realise Lin is alive (theres big hints in SRTT) and she resurrects (pun unintended) the Saints back in Stilwater because Loren left a lieutenant in charge of the Morning Star's and with nobody to lead them the Saints quickly fell apart.

Lin makes a return to aid the new MC in resurrecting the Saints (much like Gat in SR2) and together they claw back Stilwater. Fresh faces and a returning character in a city we know and love.

besides I get to shank Donnie again Laughing lol

plus, in the short space of time the Morning Star's could've reshaped the city to their liking as they have been royally booted out of their previous home. It could setup an epic game.
