This is kind of hard to put into words, but at the part where you ride the ball down, the Brute shows up earlier than it's supposed to so while it is climbing towards me I am still shown to be hanging on, unable to fire. This makes it impossible to defeat the Brute before it hits me, and thus impossible to progress. I've tried running the game on DirectX 9 and uninstalling and reinstalling the game, with no change to the problem. I am dead in the water until this is solved. Any offical or community help would be greatly appreciated. I have recorded video of the problem, but the "Insert Video" screen gives no option of selecting a file.

I'm having this exact problem! I don't know what to try other than uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don't want to wait for Steam to download it again. Alas.

That sucks, I've played it twice though and didn't experience that.
Try this..
Right click the game in steam, go to properties, local files, "verifty integrity of game cache.."
Hope that helps.

A file DID fail to validate and was redownloaded. Going to try again and hope that fixed it!

Update: redownloading whatever that was did NOT fix the glitch.

I found a work around! If you set the difficulty to causal, and you land most of the bullets into the brutes head, you can do enough damage to knock him off.

I think I actually might have even /less/ time than you do, by a bit, but I'm going to try that head technique now. Hopefully I can get it to work.

Yeah. I can't do it. It's just not possible. He's already swinging his arm towards me when I get to fire.
