I just updated to the new ATI drivers, and there isn't any significant change in my performance in DX 10 / 11 mode. Now I switched over to DX9 and that seems to work fine (although it doens't look nearly as great) and run at an acceptable frame rate on my rig. It's at least playable now though. It seems to be DX 10 specific in my case and the DX10 version won't really run well regardless of settings. I posted my specs before, but ati 6950 2gb / i5-2500k / windows 7 x64. Driving also seems fine in DX9 mode, so I'm off to blow things up.

How do you change to DirectX 9 mode? I remember with Assassin's Creed 1 the game ran like garbage in DX10 for me and smooth in DX9.

The mobile Nvidia graphic cards are also experiencing severe lag issues, could you look into it?

I'm running a pretty high end rig:
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 3.2GHz GTX 295 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
The game freezes on the copyright screen if I run in in DX11 mode. When I run it in DX9 mode, it will run but with poor framerates when I am in open areas, such as driving.

I'm having this same issue. I get identical performance running at 1024x720 with everything off as I do at 1620x1080 with everything on-- smooth indoors, slow motion while driving. Windows 7 x64 AMD64 X2 5600 @2.9ghz GeForce 560 Ti 8GB RAM

Same issue here. Even on medium, game is going below 30 fps on foot, just walking around the city. I have heard people with similar setup in forums running the game at 50+ fps on ultra, so I think this is really an issue that could be fixed and not a problem with my rig not being powerfull enough. i5 750 @ 3.4 HD 5870 8GB RAM Windows 7 X64

Same problem here Core i7 940 @ 3.6 Ghz Radeon HD 5870 1GB 6 GB DDR3 RAM Win 7 64bit Tried both 11.10 Preview 3 and 11.11 Catalyst drivers My framerate drops down to 25-30 FPS with DX11, 4xAA, 1080p, everything set to Ultra. When I lower settings to low and turn off AA the framerate does not improve. Same goes for when I swith to DX9. Really disappointing since I am getting much better framerates with Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings.

I'm having the exat same problem as described by many people here: 60 FPS indoors (but not much higher, this is with Vsync off), and 20-30 FPS outdoors, with a noticeable and very annoying stutter while driving a car (making it next to impossible to not hit things when going fast. Here are my specs: Core i5 750 @ 3.2 GHz 2x Radeon 5850 Crossfire 16 GB DDR3 1600 RAM This machine runs Battlefield 3 on high at no less than 80 frames per second, so my machine is not the issue. The AMD drivers I've been using are 11.10 with "11.9 CAP4" application profiles, as well as the just-released 11.11 with "11.11 CAP1." I haven't seen a difference in performance. Also, 11.11 + CAP1 has a tendency to bluescreen, especially when attempting to uninstall the CAP1. I think it needed a little more time in the Oven. For a game that has "AMD: Gaming evolved" on the cover and in the startup movie, you'd think the performance won't be so crappy.

Haven't tried Campaign yet but I gave Whored Mode a try and I get about an average of 30-35 FPS. I think I should be getting higher than that.
Specs:
Phenom II X4 955 Black Ed HIS HD 6950 2GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8G Windows 7 64-Bit
Video settings set to Ultra.

Same problem here as everyone else. Intel Core i5 750 (@3.5Ghz) ATI HD6950 (Flashed to 6970) tried 11.10 and 11.11 4GB DDR3 Win7 64Bit On ultra at 1080P it can't maintain 30fps. Just for kicks I turned it down to 1280x720 with everything off or on low and I couldn't even maintain 40fps. Monitored CPU and GPU and nothing to indicate a load problem. Have reinstalled latest DirectX cabs, drivers, and even restored my PC to an earlier date and it made no difference. I am currently playing BF3, Skyrim and other games at the highest settings with none of these issues. On another note, I was having issues with the game crashing at the loading screen and then in-game, the fix was to reinstall the xbox wireless receiver driver... edit: I have tried different DX modes and it didn't make a differece. Also when indoors, it does hit 60fps but only occasionly.
