Terrible framerate while driving on high-end...

I just have to say, on my (these days oldskool) HD5770, I don't have any problems, at all.

Well, on occassion there might be a spike, but that's like 2 seconds of stutter per hours of cruising around and bombing the **** out of stuff... And considering I'm running this on a 2.6Ghz dual core processor, on medium settings, I say that's pretty fokking awesome :P

So, I'm thinking, maybe it's a problem with the new line of gfx cards compatibility...

Nope, terrible framerate even on a 5850 (which made me upgrade to a 7970 - still consistent dips into the 20's fps on the fastest single GPU available at retail). This is all on ultra settings 2048x1152 which both cards should be able to handle with ease. On medium, I can get consistently good framerates (in fact, just setting lighting detail to low makes the biggest difference). I'm not going to settle for medium, however, especially with my 7970.

I'm really starting to feel pretty ripped off here guys, its been a long time and the claims that you're working with ATI on a fix with no specifics aren't very reassuring.

The fact that you're pumping out DLC yet the game still doesn't run on systems FAR above the recomended specs is just a slap in the face to those of us with issues.

Volition, a proper progress update would be nice right about now. Is this something actively being worked on, still? Or something that has been put on the backburner?

You must admit that saying that you're in 'talks with AMD' is pretty ambiguous. How far down the line are you in regards to actually getting a driver update pushed out the door? Can we expect it in the next AMD driver update?

I've given up at this point of ever playing SR3 smoothly on ultra until I get an Nvidia card down the road. I would have gone green this round if not for their top-end card coming out sometime late this year.

Not buying any future Volition software until I read user reviews saying that it's free of performance and crash issues. I'm also not so upset anymore about these SR3 performance issues because I'll be too busy playing Diablo 3 for the rest of the year. At least that's something we can be happy about!

The DLC and PC teams are wholly separate and do not have any impact on each other's schedule. We've had dedicated people on both teams and I hope to have a full response with regard to the AMD issue shortly.

I feel like I've heard this before.

Unbelievable.

I don't understand why this discussion often focuses only on AMD. Many users with Nvidia cards have the same problem, I'm one of them. It's over 4 months now since release with no fix in sight, this is a joke. If you're waiting for us to give up you win, I have given up any hope of this issue getting fixed and I'll never buy another Volition product again.
