Whats wierd is the idea of a girl who feels the need for approval and justification from complete strangers to enjoy her hobby...

I know its pretty weird for me to ask this Wisdom, but I just wanted to know if there were any other girls here who play it so I'm not alone. :P I noticed that the title got cut off. not sure if you guys can see the whole title or not, but the end of it was meant to say "games like GTA and Saints Row".

There are about 4 or 5 women who post here, and about 20 people who are either guys pretending to be women, or women who are mentally handicapped... But no, its not wierd... my ex-girlfriend loved sandbox games... she played san andreas more than I did... but she was a horrible behind the wheel. Hell, I met her playing Socom online.

I think this is what you're lookin' for: www.girlgamer.com/ You're welcome. ;-) ("Weird" is totally subjective. IMO, it's usually used by boring people to describe people having more fun than them.)

If you enjoy something, and are not hurting anybody, including yourself then enjoy it. Life is too full of real things to worry about. My girlfriend likes video games -getting a PS3 was her idea. I brought one while she was abroad as a surprise and she came back with one her son had given her. When we first met I brought a game for her son but she ended up playing and enjoying it first. She saw Saints Row for the first time the other night and I am interested in seeing what her character will be like. Her only complaint was that SR won't let us play split screen.

What Wisdom said. If something makes you feel weird for doing it, DON'T DO IT THEN! Jesus.. What does it matter? It just sounds like you're another one of those softcore female gamers who're like, "Tee-Hee!! I'm a girl who plays games. I'm so cool because I go against the grain of what is typically perceived as an all male activity!". Now, that's not a stab at all girls who play games. I'm just saying "softcore" because a real gamer wouldn't give a damn. It's one thing to be a gamer who just happens to be female, but, it's something totally different to go around with a big "FEMALE GAMER" label on your forehead. It's ridiculous and makes everyone feel like you don't care for games at all. It just looks like you want to infiltrate the realm of the hardcore gamers as if to satisfy some curiosity of what being in that group is like while still maintaining a sort of exit strategy incase what you're interested in is not accepted by those close to you.

O_O I've played games like GTA and Saints Row for years, like I said in the first post I played the older version of SR...I was simply asking if many other girls played these sorts of games and if you considered it weird.. I'm not a wannabe gamer who wants in with all the "cool crowd" and I'm not going to spend £30 just so I can feel what its like to be a "hardcore gamer".
