As many of our community members have already pointed out in the forums, Steam is having a HUGE summer sale which runs through July 4th.  Each day, they also have special deals available for only 24 hours, and Saints Row 2 PC just so happens to be one of the deals for today only.  If you act within the next 22 hours and 30 minutes (at the time of this writing), you can get SR2 PC for 75% off, lowering it down to just $7.49.  Click here to be taken to the sale page.

Along with that, the THQ Complete Pack, which contains 20 PC titles -- including Saints Row 2 -- is on sale for 50% off, or $49.99.  That's only $2.50 per game!  Click here to head to the official sale page to check out all of the games included in this pack.

After you've made your purchase, be sure to check out our SR2 PC Modding section of the forums.  Our community members have released a ton of modifications to the base game, which you should really check out.

For all you 360 users, the PC version of SR2 supports mods and has a massive amounts of additions to the game making it almost a whole new experience. For that cheap it's a no brainer.

Cheers for the tip off chaps...

That has to be the best £2.49 I've spent for a long time...

Just gotta wait 6 hours for it to download now...

I just hope I can follow the Modding guidelines now. Hopefully I won't embarrass myself , and will be able to do something with my game...

Look forward to this little journey, hopefully it will keep my Saints Row 2 buzz on, until SR3 is confirmed

Yeah, welcome to our community, Jus. You'll learn to enjoy the PC version of the game once you install GOTR. Just consider it our DLC package from the community to you.  However, I'm not too sure if all the bugs are worked out yet.  I suggest you complete the storyline and activites first, then download this.  I tried doing an activity, and I got BSoD'd.  Not too sure if this was corrected yet.

Thanks for the welcome mate, good to be here...

I am actually getting helped along by Ninja and others which has been invaluable for installing, updating, etc...

So ya I'm in a fresh new save with just the intro missions and 1 activity under my belt, but I am enjoying it immensely. The colours, extras, new stores, etc are fabulous

That's not very good advice. All activities have been confirmed to work perfectly with GotR, so your crashing problem was absolutely not related to the mod.
