Back in early August of 2008, I received a PM from community member yoyopop10 who asked if I could add a new section to the forums specifically aimed at those interested in expanding the lore of the Saints Row series. While I had never written a fan fiction pertaining to a game before, I saw no risk in giving it a fighting chance, so a section known as Stilwater Stories was born. At first, it was more of an experiment, starting out with a story or two a week. Eventually more community members started to post up stories, bringing in examples from both games, elements from their personal lives, and even other community members. Today, Stilwater Stories boasts over 500 individual narratives, which is a feat in itself. While I can't call out each of the fantastic authors that have composed a Stilwater Story over the past year and half, I can point you to a few threads that might help start you in the right direction.
- Great Reads by Wetbizkit - While the links may be broken due to the recent forum move, it's still a great resource for finding titles of older stories that really resonated throughout the community.
- Stilwater Stories Top 10 by Yossi - Yossi has taken on the task of ranking all new stories written on a weekly basis into a mini list based on popularity within the community.
I want to personally thank each and every member of the Stilwater Stories crew. If you're reading this post now and haven't navigated your browser towards that section of the forums yet, then it's time to head to the fridge, grab a frosty beverage, and start clicking those links. You will not be disappointed. CommentRead the post »

No need to thank me - you're the ones that have been creating the amazing content to give that section life. Without it, there'd be a lot less engaging content here, which is why this was necessary and I may expand on it in the future.
Also, apologies to anyone who is a regular submitter to Stilwater Stories that didn't get their title / name on a book. I just picked out the most recent 4 from the top of the section to use for the image.

YAY
About time stilwater stories got the recognition it deserves!
I hope that more people participate and who knows maybe we can have a contest to compete for best story of the month/oryear award?
I know there's already a stilwater stories top10 and wetbiskets thread, but it would be cool to get interviewed by say Vsing and have him ask a series of questions on how (your story) came to be, as if the person being interviewed were some famous writer and not only that when they win they get their very own book published like uptop.
That would be exciting! and i'm always up for some friendly competion but in the name of FUN! Don't make it personal ;)
See that huge hole in the ground, that's my expectation for Saints Row4.

Yeah, the future looks bright.
But some of the old original writers need to come back.
I think we should get some new ones aswell.
Oh well, as a team we have become successful.
