Custom avatars are awesome, but come with a few rules. Please try to stay within them, or there may be a few consequences to those who break them.

Rules

1. Avatars may only be uploaded and not hotlinked from an outside source. This allows us to maintain the following sizes below:

Maximum size - 100x100
Maximum file size - 40 KB

2. Avatars may not depict anything that violates the forum rules or attacks another user. We're also asking that you keep any foul language out of the avatars as well.

3. Avatars may be animated, but please refrain from creating anything that is seizure inducing or annoying to look at time and time again.

4. The official "V" logo for Volition should only be used by moderators or other employees. Any users utilizing the V logo will receive a warning.

Consequences:

The first time you break a rule above, you will get a warning via PM. You will have 24 hours to change your avatar. If it is not changed within that time period, it will be deleted. For certain violations, your avatar may be deleted right away.

The second time you break a rule above, you will no longer be allowed to have an avatar in this forum. We may also take your signature privileges away if you violated the rules to a certain extent.

Our main goal is to allow all of you to maintain your individuality, but not slow the forum down or make it hard to read.

How-To:

If you need instructions on how to upload an avatar, here you go:

1. Click on the link for your username in the upper right corner.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab.
3. Scroll down to where it says "Picture" and click the browse button to navigate to your saved avatar.
4. Hit submit at the bottom.
5. Enjoy!
