The only way you can join lobbies is by invite, or by Joining Session In Progress.

So, the person doesn't necessarily have to be your friend, but they would have to have played with you at some point in order to have your name in their XBL recently played list. They can then Join In Progress by selecting your name from that list.

Their is no "list" of open lobbies that random people ca wrote:

Can you play gangsta brawl on the same maps that you play blinged out rides on?

Can you make it so the only weapons in the match are baseball bats?

1. No, GB and BOR have their own separate maps.
